How accurate are the DMC conversions?
Each match is labeled high, medium, or low confidence based on a measured color-difference formula (CIEDE2000), the same math used in professional color matching. High means the colors are nearly indistinguishable; low means they are in the same family but visibly different, so check the real threads in daylight before you commit to anything color-critical.
Can I convert between two non-DMC brands, like Weeks Dye Works to Kreinik?
Yes. The converter bridges through DMC automatically, so you can pick any source brand and any target brand and get the closest match, not just conversions to and from DMC.
What does the "Discontinued" label mean?
It flags colors that have been retired or are a limited edition no longer in production. We still include them, and their DMC match, because you may own a pattern that calls for one even if the thread itself is hard to find today.
